2nd Wave - THE PERSEVERANCE TO LIVE

If 2020 was a tough year, then to be very honest, 2021 is just abysmal.

2020 had its own plans for dalgona coffee, ludo, family time, drawing, painting, viewing sunsets, shaping body, games, fun with siblings, online classes and many more...
Obviously there were covid cases , but very few were severely affected.

None of us were ready for Lockdown.
Nor anyone could make their mind to be a part of it. But as time passed , we became habituated and were comfortable with that schedule. It was more than 7-8 months. Cases decreased.

But from Mid-February, a sudden spike in case occurred. The whole of March month was just disastrous.Nobody ever thought that India would be in a situation where there would be no oxygen, no beds and ventilators, medical devices and medicines. People were dying at a fast rate. Doctors and medical staff were at 24 hrs duty. It was the second wave which hitted whole country very dreadfully.

Ambulance services were arriving 5 days late. Around 150-200 ambulances were waiting outside many hospitals, to admit their patient. People were helpless. They were lying on the roads with oxygen cylinder and masks on their face. Relatives were pleading to the doctors and whoever seemed to be a medical staff, to have a look at their son/daughter/husband/wife.

Public were begging to whoever in whom they could see a ray of hope. The situation was worse than ever.
At a hospital, due to lack of medical staff, the gardener was collecting samples for test of patients.
Nobody ever thought that this peak was going to be reached.

Symptoms of depression were assessed in 12 out of the 19 studies. The prevalence of depressive symptoms ranged from 14.6% to 48.3%. Although the reported rates are higher than previously estimated one-year prevalence (3.6% and 7.2%) of depression among the population prior to the pandemic.

Many risk factors were identified to be associated with symptoms of depression amongst the COVID-19 pandemic. Females were reported as are generally more likely to develop depressive symptoms when compared to their male counterparts. Participants from the younger age group (≤40 years) presented with more depressive symptoms. Student status was also found to be a significant risk factor for developing more depressive symptoms.

HELP FOR SOCIETY , FROM SOCIETY:
Many gyms, hotels, religious places were converted into isolation centres and hospitals.
Many youth and public came forward to help the needy by arranging oxygen cylinders and ensuring that they reach the right person.
Many started free tiffin services for covid patients and their families who are unable to cook.
Many of them helped the patients in admission to the hospitals and checking for the bed availablity.
Many youth helped in searching the medicines and injections which were difficult to find in the medical stores due to increase in consumption from the public , making it out of stock.

The poor people who couldn't afford the high rates of medicines were not able to even struggle for their last breath. Bcoz they already had left their hope.

Health workers were giving their 100% to cure the patients, without any complications. But God also had its own plans.
Patient load just exploded.
It was a difficult time for everyone. Many of us lost their lives. Many near and dear ones just disappeared in one stroke. For newspaper and media, they were just some numbers. But for many houses, it was the only thing bcoz of which they were surviving.

In some houses both of the parents died due to covid, leaving their 2-3 year olds alone. Who is there to take care of them?
It was a heartbreak to see this tragedy, happening to some houses.
Some lost their son/daughter , some of them their partner, some lost their pregnant wife, and some lost their parents.

Some of our own families were affected to a great extent. You would have faced something that you didn't had control of. You would have faced a phase of trepidation where at least for once you have imagined the loss of the affected one. You would have come along depression for once , bcoz nobody can remain strong for a long time. And ya don't ever judge someone through their social media stories. It just takes a min or two to upload something that soothes their mind. But they are struggling somewhere a lot inside. Bcoz you never know what they are going through.

YOU JUST KNOW A PART OF THE STORY,
BUT YOU WERE NEVER A PART OF THE STORY!!!

Treat people kindly and show them affection, in the hope of bringing a smile to their face because of your conversation, at least for a while.

It hurts when any closed one passes away. Mind can't stop you from thinking the same thing continuously. Heart is in pain. It's a stage where you can't accept such things. You just stuck up there and think it for hours, realising the same every second. You just start rewinding the memories you created with them. You can't stop yourself from sobbing.

But this pandemic and 2nd wave taught us many lessons:
✓ Even money can't buy you a ventilator bed or medicines.
✓ Nothing is permanent. Everything lasts for a certain period.
✓ Family and some friends are the only thing which exists with you forever.
✓ The one who has high contacts and money can atleast survive as compared to the poor ones.
✓ And the most important one,
Life is to be lived once. We never know when is your last meeting with someone. Life gives us many chances , but when God decides someone's fate, it's not even possible to see a glimpse of that person's face a LAST TIME.

The most important thing I experienced is , never leave a thing for the next day.
Do what you want to...!!
Say what you feel...!!
Express your feelings...!!
Laugh as much you could..!!
Shower your love to the loved ones..!!

Talk to your family and friends, and explain them how much they mean to you. Tell them their importance in your life. Bcoz we never know when it turns out to be the last conversation!!!

Spend time with your closed ones, leaving your ego aside. Bcoz life is uncertain. We never know what happens next. It's the time to be practical not emotional.

If not today, then a lifetime guilt will be abide on your mind as well as heart.
Bcoz sometimes "TOMORROW DOESN'T EXISTS"

And this blog is to those who lost someone,
YOU ARE STRONGER
YOU ARE THE POWER
BCOZ YOU HANDLED IT WITH UTMOST CARE AND AFFECTION.
YOU DID THE BEST YOU COULD!!!
BUT FATE HAD IT'S OWN PLANS.
AND HONESTLY, "SOUL NEVER DIES"
THEY ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU.

There's a long path to go.
We have to forget these real nightmares, even if at a low pace but we have to.
Bcoz the utmost truth is, we have to accept the things as they are.
No one's gonna come to make you smile everyday, everytime or every moment.
Bcoz when you are having a conversation with someone, it's that you are interacting with a person and it's thoughts. But when you are alone , it's just you and your thoughts , which you have to overcome some day.
So let's start from today..!!

After some tragedies, we realise that life is just like a river. River flows in a direction, and we have to flow along with it i.e. by accepting the things and living in present. The day you start imagining the negativities & sobbing and complaining about the truth that life has been unfair with you, the river will take you forcefully against your wish with the flow. So, I know sometimes it's hard to accept some things. But with time, you need to..!!

STRUGGLING SLOWLY, GOING THROUGH DEPRESSION AND THEN BEING NORMAL, IS A PART OF A SIGNIFICANT PROCESS TO OVERCOME AND TO HEAL THE WOUNDS.
BUT THEY WILL PROBABLY ONE DAY!!
BCOZ YOU ARE AND CAN BE STRONGER THAN YOU THINK AND REALISE!!
